2 - The Stable If we turn around and look across the road we see a building that was known as The Stable. The outbuildings of the Tavern in the Town pub was a regular venue in 1980 with Those Attractive Magnets making their debut performance on May 23 1980. Edward ian Armchair, Tamworth’s punk poet also made his debut here – a performance lasting a mere 10 seconds with his only words being “I walked into a lonely room, and saw the lonely people and suddenly…”
