27 - Greens Records

On reaching Church Street, look to your right. Greens Records of Church Street (now Bargain Booze) was at one time THE place to buy the latest single or album release. John and Hazel Jackson who ran the shop in the 70's would help the avid record collector obtain that obscure release. They were also embroiled in a chart-rigging scandal that rocked the record industry in March 1978 as the shop was one of the 'secret' selection of shops whose record sales went to form the Top 100 of the time.
