18 - Susanna's Night Club
Turning right walking up to the traffic lights and turn right into Silver Street. If we continue down past the Castle Hotel on our left, at the end of the building we come to what was Susanna’s night club. Named after the daughter of the then owners Mr. Norman Cartlidge and Mrs. Cartlidge, and opened in May 1971, this was Tamworth’s first night-club. Many bands also played here but by the end of 1975 Susannah's had stopped booking bands and were promoting Northern Soul nights on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Later known as Stripes and Lakins Night Club.
